Peace

paa080000048

Weary eyes have no more will,
For rest they seek, no more pain,
Let me stay mother, let me stay still,
Resting my troubles on your lap again.

I have travelled afar, and for long, and yet,
Not once have I slept a peaceful wink,
No place in the world would help me forget,
No sea big enough for pain to sink.

I have battled for long,my strength eludes me,
My scars led me here, numb yet in pain,
They were trivial, my victories; triviality robes me,
While my wisdom fails me, even vanity is vain.

Let me sleep now mother, for the darkness must end,
This warmth I have missed on many a cold night,
Another journey awaits me, the chariots He will send,
No battles to wage, nor proud men to fight.

With my eyes shut now, bright lights do I see,
Voices now whisper, and voices now pray,
No cries of the dead will ever call me,
Let me sleep mother, here and yet away.

The Drifter

Drifter

Stretched out I lie, with thoughts abed,
Time now is still, and I,ahead,
In neither dream nor in wakeful state,
Footsteps I hear,that slowly abate.

A carcass of sounds envelops this space,
Now do I notice the deafening pace,
I veer from my path, control no more,
And at once I drop the burden I bore.

Brief but weighted, comes wisdom, a pause
And now again, my thoughts are at loss,
Drifting like shadows in the veil of the dark,
Numbed, each moment on journeys I embark.

No path do I see, no destination set,
No names, no memories from faces I met,
I walk till my body is aged and sore,
I walk till my eyes can show me no more.

But until then, each day they will grow swifter,
Distant, my own thoughts, beside me - the drifter.

Death

when_death_comes

A blanket of dark has covered the night,

Streets asunder with traces of light,

Fog lamps in halos have shadows cast

Spotlights for specters that speak of the past.

Winds of silence, blow past the street,

Voices that whisper matters discrete.

The calm is now broken, of the night supreme

Fear into the hearts, blares an eerie scream.

Pulses now race, eyelids now balk,

Ears lie await for winds that talk.

Footsteps are heard, death walks here,

Spines tremble in morbid fear.

The tempo now rises, hearts skip beats,

The wave has passed, away from the streets,

Maleficent spirits will walk once more,

Paths then awash with phantasmic gore.

A Love Waltz

I'm awake,in wonder,listening to the rain,
My arid heart now fragrant, glistening with the rain,
Senses that give in,yet fortified once more,
As the love of the rain gods descend in this pour.

I hear anklets rhyme with the passionate beat,
A magical waltz by the rain and her feet,
Her heart knows no bounds, her feet keep pace,
A flash, and she turns - joy now has a face.

With not a care for the eyes of the world,
Or the mighty gusts of breezes cold,
She pours her heart on a dampened ground,
Which resonate in fullness,a lyrical sound.

My heart jumps a beat to watch her like this,
Eyes stare in awe,thoughts amiss,
If sight to these eyes, today was gifted,
No better time could the veil have been lifted.

For I see now,oh! And I see clear,
Beauty in motion, like a spirited deer,
The gods approve in thunderous applause,
And the rhythmic chants fade into a pause.

She stops and turns,to my eyes in the stands,
Mindless, I too applauded with my hands,
A fluster is once seen,a shyness takes lead,
Pulses of her anklets wane with worldly heed.

I stand still in awe,I know not what passed,
A heart so full in moments, is empty at last,
Wandering eyes look for shadows moving in grace,
Effervescent cries, seeking once more her face....

A sea we call World..

Trivialities, the greatest of pursuits without a cause,
A slender boat,a broken soul, on a random toss,
Faith prevails when the storm passes hence,
Only to be bribed by worldly sense.

Knowing that tides will rise and fall,
Random, yet certain to tinker us all,
Lions too here lose their royal touch,
For might it seems, counts not as much.

A lull is often felt,a peace calling,
TO be broken by cries of hundreds, falling,
Tossing, turning, with only air to hold,
Gasping as their grip loosens with the cold.

As waters gush to fill a lonely heart,
An anchor is dropped into the lucid dark,
Lips quiver,a tear runs down,
Unseen, yet tracing the path of a frown.

A million sobs are stifled by hushes of waves,
Tears that shatter in the darkest of caves,
What once was a struggle, has ceased to be,
As yet another brave soul loses to this sea...

Invisible affections

A molten sun dipped in lava of gold,
An evening clear in its arms hold,
An embrace that seems to affect them all,
Or one that craves for just their fall.

As he sets himself at the very end,
With shaky lit waters he seeks to blend,
In quiet peace, an eye watches him dawn,
And lets mind and its offspring to spawn.

She smiles with a radiance that matches his own,
Smiles that dimple- evasive, unknown,
Gaiety that permeates her, joy unbound,
Like the expanse of his covered ground.

Today they will separate in uncommon pain,
Only tomorrow to be one again,
A few moments in their arms is all they get,
But part they will with no regret.

Each day this love ballad lies await,
To render to these souls their mundane fate,
Each day, this great love story will unwind,
Unseen, yet omnipresent- for us to find.

Missing you..

I miss you on evenings cold,
When I want you in my arms to hold,
I miss you on days of shine,
Wanna be with you and make you mine,
I miss you on days of shower,
To feel love,that mysterious power,
I miss you on lonely days,
When I want us to talk of unworldly ways,
I miss you when the world seems vile,
To make it grand with just your smile..
