Summer shower

1243108093B2YbKbY

A patter awakes me, I rush to the sight,
Millions of love drops descend ere night,
Monochrome skies now show a thousand hues,
Of God’s work or His palette, for  better works to choose.

The hour of magic has descended, beauty no more cowers,
Drenched walls now coyly bear love marks from His showers,
Indolent trees sway in dance, and follow fields of crops,
Insolent winds, now gentle, hold and caress treetops.

Soil; it found love first, when showers swung by,
Mellow perfumes it lilts now, as sweet alibi,
Flowers glow in envy, look skyward with unease,
Droplets fall on petal lips; an attempt to appease.

With memories that hearts, may in rain only see,
At a distant patio, a heart dances in glee,
Tyrant rain gods; they play no fair game,
As another heart writhes, in memories of a name.

Slowly the light falls, the romance is still,
Melodies of trickles, will pauses now fill,
Winds swing by once more, with promises to keep,
Stroking earth’s forehead, into somnambulant sleep.
